The Best Restaurants in Skanör and Falsterbo

Updated August 2026

The dining scene on the Falsterbo peninsula is intimate but quietly impressive. There are no pretentious tasting menus or influencer-bait interiors — just honest cooking, local ingredients, and places where you eat with a view of the harbour or sand between your toes. These are the spots I keep coming back to, and the ones I recommend to every guest.

The Best Lunch in Falsterbo and Skanör

The question I get most often is about lunch, not dinner. The answer mostly depends on where you are standing: three of the options in Falsterbo village sit within a few hundred metres of each other, and the rest are down at Skanör harbour. Price levels below follow the same scale as the rest of this guide, and off-season it is worth checking the day's hours before you set off.

Kust — Falsterbo centre

$$–$$$

Lunch is shorter and simpler than the evening menu — creamy seafood soup, shrimp sandwiches, Caesar salad, Wallenbergare. It is also the first place I suggest when the weather turns, because the brasserie works just as well indoors. Booking recommended.

Bistro Perspektiv — Falsterbo beach

$$–$$$

Inside Falsterbo Photo Art Museum, surrounded by pine forest and sand dunes, and it can be visited without a museum ticket. Lunch runs to fresh salads, pasta or shrimp sandwiches; earlier in the day it is coffee and a croissant with the sea outside the window. The one lunch on the peninsula that improves on a wet day, since the museum is in the same building.

Mike Arvblom Pizza — Strandbadsvägen, Falsterbo

$$

Roman-style pizza from a chef who took first place at the Pizza World Championship, plus fresh pasta and salads. There are only a few tables and often a queue, so the lunch that actually works is to order ahead and eat it on the beach. Not somewhere you wander into at noon in July.

Fiskhuset i Skanör — Hamnvägen 2

$$

A fish and seafood counter with a straightforward restaurant section next to it, so lunch and something to take home happen in one visit. The restaurant is listed as Tue–Sun 11:30–15:30, but recheck the same day. The plain, uncomplicated choice at the harbour.

Linda's Fingermat — Skanör harbour

$–$$

Latin American small dishes with a local twist — tacos, empanadas and ceviche. You order at the window and sit outside, which makes it a summer lunch rather than a year-round one: mostly seasonal, often closed in winter. The cheapest of the five.

If you want something faster and cheaper, Alm's on Strandbadsvägen is the nearest option — burgers, pizza and salads, not fine dining but filling, and it works in any weather. And for fika rather than lunch: Villa Olympia at Skolgatan 3, open year-round.

Dinner with a Sea View

Dinner with a sea view is rarer here than you would expect. The villages sit a few hundred metres back from the water, so most kitchens have a square or a garden outside the window rather than a horizon. Three places are the exceptions.

Badhytten sits right in the sand dunes at Skanör beach, and the rooftop terrace gives you 360° over sea and shore. The place was rebuilt over the winter and reopened on 11 June 2026 under new operators with a new kitchen — the menu is sharing plates and pizza now rather than burgers. The food has improved a great deal, the service has not caught up, and the bill is higher than it used to be. Book a table and allow plenty of time.

At Skanör harbour, J. Persson is the relaxed option: flatbreads, small plates, a beer or a glass of wine with the sunset behind them. Bistro Perspektiv at Falsterbo beach opens in the evenings in summer with a more restaurant-like feel and sea and pine outside. If the weather turns, Rogeriet at Hamnvägen 1 puts the same harbour behind glass in a proper restaurant setting.

Skanör Harbour

The harbour is the undisputed centre of summer life in Skanör. The small cluster of restaurants along the quay draws both locals and visitors, and on a sunny day there are few spots in southern Sweden that can match the feeling of sitting by the water with a plate of freshly caught fish.

Rogeriet (Skanör Fish Smokehouse)

$$

A long-running harbour venue at Hamnvägen 1 focused on fish and seafood. It combines a full restaurant with an in-house smokehouse and a practical shop counter for takeaway and pre-orders. The style blends Swedish fish classics with more modern influences. A solid harbour choice when you want seafood in a proper restaurant setting and the option to bring smoked items home.

J. Persson (Skanör harbour)

$$

A "come as you are" bistro with a fantastic harbour location. Drop in after the beach for a beer, a glass of wine or a flatbread pizza — no fuss. The menu features flatbreads, small plates and salads in simple rustic style. The atmosphere is lively and social, often with music. Families fit right in and the harbour walk is right outside. Fantastic setting with sunsets as a bonus.

Fiskhuset i Skanör

$$

A separate venue from Rogeriet, at Hamnvägen 2. It combines a fish and seafood shop counter with a straightforward lunch-focused restaurant section. The concept is practical and local: eat in, or buy seafood to take home. Good for a no-fuss seafood stop when you want both a shop and lunch in one place.

Hamnvägen 2, Skanör · Shop Tue–Fri 10–18, Sat 10–16, Sun 11–15 · Restaurant Tue–Sun 11:30–15:30 (recheck same day)

Linda's Fingermat

$–$$

A culinary underdog in the harbour serving Latin American small dishes with a local twist. Chile meets Skåne — tacos, empanadas and ceviche made with local ingredients and lots of love. Order at the window, sit outside and watch the harbour life. A real gem for those wanting something different.

Skanör harbour · Mostly seasonal, often closed in winter · Ceviche and empanadas are favourites

Svarta Malin

$

A newer harbour venue near the harbour entrance, combining a café concept with a small practical shop: coffee, pastries, rolls and quick everyday essentials for beach or boating days. Ideal for a short practical stop when you want coffee and to solve small day-to-day needs in one place.

Skanör village

The narrow streets of Skanör hold a couple of genuine spots worth a stroll. The atmosphere is laid-back, and both stay open year-round.

Njud (Food & Wine Bar)

$$–$$$

One of Skanör's most beloved restaurants, housed in a charming old station building in the heart of the village. Njud offers a wine-bar atmosphere with knowledgeable, relaxed service and a menu focused on smaller dishes and tapas with French and Mediterranean influences. Ingredients change with the season — one week it might be mackerel and confit pork belly, the next beef tataki or fresh-caught cod. In summer they often grill outdoors and the terrace on the square has become legendary. The wine list is thoughtful and the atmosphere elegant but unpretentious. Perfect for a long dinner with great wine.

Skanörs Gästgifvaregård

$$–$$$

A beloved and historic inn in the centre of Skanör — a "unique gem" with a Travellers' Choice award. Classic Scanian and Scandinavian food is served with a gourmet twist on home cooking in rustic, historic dining rooms. Chefs use local ingredients and seasonal menus. The atmosphere is calm and traditional with top-class service. A visit feels like time slows down and the food tastes a bit better. Don't miss their famous herring table at holidays or the classic Scanian "äggakaka" (egg cake) if it's on the menu.

Skanör centre · Open year-round · Booking recommended · Perfect rainy-day dinner

Skanör beach

One of the peninsula's most spectacular dining locations — right in the sand dunes with the sea as your backdrop, and as of this summer a completely rebuilt one.

Badhytten

$$$

The peninsula's most spectacularly located restaurant, rebuilt over the winter and reopened on 11 June 2026 with seven new owners behind it. It is four places in one now: the restaurant down in the dunes, the rooftop terrace with 360° views, the Strandhytten beach bar in the small wooden building facing the harbour — which now holds a licence — and a kiosk. Strings of lights run out over the sand so the evening carries on past sunset.

The kitchen is entirely new and cooks Mediterranean-leaning sharing plates: Kalix vendace roe with fried rösti, burrata with roasted chilli, salmon crudo, caesar salad with poached lobster, grilled ribeye. Alongside them, four pizzas — one topped with vendace roe and prawns. Up on the roof the menu is "Tins, Tinis & Fries" — tinned fish, martinis and chips — and late in the evening a DJ takes over.

Honestly about this first season: guest reviews praise the food and not the service. Inexperienced staff, long waits and muddled bookings come up again and again through summer 2026. Come with time to spare — or do as the locals do and head straight up to the roof for a drink at sunset, which is the best thing Badhytten does anyway.

Badhyttsvägen 9, Skanör · Daily from 12, Fri until 01 and Sat until 02 · Closed Mondays after 16 August · Book a table for dinner, walk-ins for drinks · The new owners are aiming for year-round opening — check the hours before an off-season visit

Falsterbo village

Falsterbo is small, but it has a few real gems — perfect for a quick lunch or a relaxed evening close to your accommodation.

Kust

$$–$$$

A welcoming brasserie in central Falsterbo blending Scandinavian and French flavours. Lunches feature classics like creamy seafood soup, shrimp sandwiches, Caesar salad and Wallenbergare. The dinner menu elevates with beef tartare, Skagenröra and seasonal fish or lamb. The atmosphere feels like visiting a good friend's veranda. Personal service and a well-curated drink list with great cocktails in high season. The reliable choice in Falsterbo — good food, warm atmosphere and solid service. Perfect regardless of weather.

Mike Arvblom Pizza

$$

Run by Mike Arvblom, first place at the Pizza World Championship. In a small, cozy corner house on Strandbadsvägen, pizzas are elevated to an art: Roman-style with crispy base and creative toppings, made from dough fermented to perfection. Informal with just a few tables — popular and often queued. Also serves fresh pasta, salads and real Italian gelato. Guests describe the flavour as "heavenly". Fun fact: Mike's brother Dan is also a pizza chef — "the Arvblom brothers have pizza in their blood".

Alm's

$

A local favourite on Strandbadsvägen (historically known as Falsterbogrillen). Burgers, pizza, salads and comfort food — quick, uncomplicated and filling. Evolved from a street-food stand to a proper restaurant with outdoor seating and a full drinks menu. Generous portions at reasonable prices. Staff are cheerful and service is fast. The bacon burger and soft-serve ice cream are local favourites. The closest and easiest option for a quick dinner.

Cafés & fika

The peninsula has a couple of excellent spots for a mid-day break — from Italian gelato to a museum café by the sea.

Villa Olympia

$–$$

A charming café in a historic villa at Skolgatan 3 in Falsterbo. Real Italian gelato made on site with flavours that change daily — from pistachio to blood orange sorbet — freshly brewed barista coffee and homemade pastries. In summer, sit in the lush garden with a gelato cone. In winter, retreat to the cozy indoor salon rooms. Gelato for the kids, cappuccino for the adults — everyone's happy.

Bistro Perspektiv

$$–$$$

Located inside Falsterbo Photo Art Museum right by the beach, surrounded by pine forest and sand dunes. Bistro Perspektiv serves lunch and coffee with a Swedish-French touch in a modern, airy space. Morning coffee and croissant with views of sea and pine trees. Lunch options include fresh salads, pasta or shrimp sandwiches. Summer evenings offer a more restaurant-like experience. The setting is world-class — art, nature and sea in one place. Can be visited without a museum ticket.

Tips from your host

Most harbour restaurants are seasonal and can get very busy on sunny weekends. My recommendation: plan to eat lunch early (before noon) or have a late dinner (after 7 pm) to avoid the worst queues. Njud and Skanörs Gästgifvaregård should always be booked in peak season. Mike Arvblom Pizza has just a few tables — order ahead or take away to the beach. In winter, Kust, Gästgifvaregården and Villa Olympia are reliable year-round options. Cash is rarely needed; all restaurants accept cards and most take Swish (Sweden's mobile payment app).
